ABOUT

Already fairly well-developed as a mischief-maker and the recipient of female attention, this is the year Sirius solidifies his persona as charming rogue. This is due partially to his new personal liberty, partially to the increasing feeling that he may be losing his best friend to a girl, partially simply because he can.

He doesn't play sport of any kind, and only has an interest in Quidditch when James is playing, although it's fair to say he has a wee bit of a fetish for the uniforms. His marks are high despite his propensity for causing trouble; teachers are fond of him, but conflicted about it.

PHYSIQUE: Thin, but not as skinny as he'll be after school, as at Hogwarts (and the Potters') he has adults ensuring he eats three squares a day. (He probably weighs the most over the summers, as he wouldn't like to disappoint James' mum.) Also, raiding the kitchens in the middle of the night is one of the boys' favorite pastimes. As things have begun going downhill, though, he's eating less determinedly, as he's always had issues with food and control, and recent events (The Prank, James' pursuit of Lily, the break with his family, etc) will have exacerbated it.

Perpetually confident, Sirius walks with purpose regardless of where he's going, the sort of person whom others instinctively clear a path for. This is principally an offshoot of being a Black, as he may not like his family much, but he was raised with their innate superiority. His hands are long-fingered and elegant, and move with as much conviction as his stride, whether it be to caress or throw a punch. He plays the part of the punk rebel, but his aristocratic nature and privilege are too deeply ingrained to have been dislodged yet.

IN SCHOOL: No tie, shirt perpetually untucked, even if he has a jumper over it.
He embraces anything anti-establishment, which he feels the Muggles are better at. Generally, he sees the WW as a lot of sheep, clinging to old ways and stuck in the past. He recently discovered Muggle punk music, and it has influenced him greatly.

BRIEF HISTORY

Despite coming from a pureblood family of significant power and wealth, Sirius Black has not had the easiest of childhoods. From an early age, he chose to rail against his family's pureblood ideology, and his reward was pervasive emotional, mental and physical abuse. The summer before last, his conflict with his mother reached a breaking point and he left home to stay with his best friend, James Potter. Sirius' uncle Alphard died and left him a substantial inheritance not long after.

Sirius presently attends Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, in his Seventh Year. The troubles of the first war with Voldemort have just begun to breach the popular boy bubble he's been living in with his three best friends for the past six school years, and whatever was left of Sirius' innocence is rapidly deteriorating with it.
